Fallopian Tube Carcinoma
Definition and Synonyms

Definition: A carcinoma involving the fallopian tube which is attached to the uterine corpus (uterine body). It may be a primary carcinoma, arising from the epithelium of the fallopian tube or, more commonly secondary from ovarian origin. Most patients are postmenopausal, and postmenopausal bleeding is the most frequently seen symptom. Morphologically, the majority of fallopian tube carcinomas are serous or endometrioid adenocarcinomas. -- 2004
