Ritalin and the D.A.R.E Program by Shane Ellison

It's sad to see the overwhelming majority of children who have become occupationally orphaned. This article is written to set the record straight; there is no demand for child care in America, only a demand for parents.

If you're responsible enough to have children then you're responsible enough to take care of them. Most have given this responsibility to the state. Once in elementary school, the state passes that responsibility to drugs. This is seen by the 195% increase among children being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD) over the last 5 years. These children are being prescribed Ritalin (methylphenidate), Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine), Desoxyn (methamphetamine), and Adderal (a mixture of Ritalin, Dexedrine, and amphetamine). Funny, while learning "Drug Abuse Resistance" through D.A.R.E, 60% of the "attendees" are intoxicated and debilitated by these street drugs known as crank/speed. The paradigm; D.A.R.E is taught by police officers who put people in jail for using crank and speed. Interestingly, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) classify Ritalin, Adderall, and Dexedrine in the same Schedule II category as methamphetamine and cocaine.

The Experimental Pharmacology Department of the American Cyanamid Company and the Merck Index reports that Ritalin is no less toxic or safer than amphetamine and methamphetamine. They continue, by stating that upon administration of these drugs, motor activity decreases. Often time's tremors and convulsions occur. Further studies on amphetamine derivatives show that short-term clinical doses produce brain cell death. Long-lasting and sometimes permanent changes in the biochemistry of the brain are also a result.

These drugs are a permanent "time out" for the children who are inclined to think for themselves and are consequently mislabeled as ADHD because they don't follow the herd. Once family becomes the priority rather than "career", we will get to know our children better and establish relationships built on respect. Guaranteed, this makes for a better society where children are stimulated by human interaction rather than synthetic drugs.

Ever heard of "divide and conquer"? Multi-national pharmaceutical cartels are doing a good job of this. Their success lies in our ignorance regarding synthetic drugs and their effects on our lives and society on a whole. Parents and children alike MUST begin to ASK QUESTIONS! Unfortunately, being "politically correct" has become more important than our well-being.

"...But they are not madmen, and their aim is not anarchy but social stability. It is in order to achieve stability that they carry out, by scientific means, the ultimate, personal, really revolutionary revolution."
