Mastering Minoxidil - How to Use it and What to Expect
by Maggie Kay
Minoxidil, otherwise known as Rogaine, is a topical medication that is used to increase hair growth. Minoxidil has been proven to stimulate hair growth on the bald spot located on the back of men’s heads.
How to use Minoxidil
This medication must be applied to the scalp at least twice a day for four months, once in the morning and once again in the evening, before any noticeable change appears. It must be applied to a dry scalp and left untouched for four hours in order to ensure proper absorption (no swimming, no shampooing, etc.). Once you notice results, you must continue to use the product to maintain hair growth.
The negative side to Minoxidil
- Minoxidil is not as effective on patients who are old, have large areas of baldness or who have been bald for a long period of time.
